About the Bands

Kansas

With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America’s iconic classic rock bands. This “garage band” from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.” KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ’70’s and ’80’s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. “Carry On Wayward Son” continues to be one of the top five most-played songs on classic rock radio, and “Dust In the Wind” has been played on the radio more than three million times!

The band, which is currently comprised of original guitarist Richard Williams, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist Joe Deninzon, guitarist Zak Rizvi, bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, and original drummer Phil Ehart. Eric Holmquist performs on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack. KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.

Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of classic rock radio and popular culture. The band continues to reach a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence in various commercials, live sports broadcasts and popular video games (Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Grand Theft Auto), the band’s documentary film “KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere,” and a guest appearance on The CW’s television show “Walker.” The band’s songs have also been included in various television shows such as “Supernatural,” “Reacher,,” “All Elite Wrestling,” “South Park,” “The Office” and “The Simpsons,” as well as blockbuster films including “Old School,” “The Suicide Squad,” “Anchorman,” “Pitch Perfect” and “Happy Gilmore.”

Blue Öyster Cult

For over five decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs.Indeed, the Long Island, New York‐based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

The band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica, and BÖC was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Upon the release of BÖC’s self‐titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy – yet heavy – music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BÖC’s canon includes three stone-cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: The truly haunting “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s Agents of Fortune,
the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s Spectres and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin. Other notable BÖC songs include “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll,” “Then Came the Last Days of May,” “I Love the Night,” “In Thee,””Veteran of the Psychic Wars,” “Dominance and Submission,” “Astronomy,” “Black Blade” and “Shooting Shark.”

The intense creative vision of BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist Danny Miranda and drummer Jules Radino.

“We realized we’re a ‘classic rock’ band. That’s what we are, that’s what we do best, and that’s what we know. The band members are proud of BÖC’s classic sound, and pleased the band is creating vibrant work for disenfranchised music lovers who don’t like the homogenized, prefabricated pop or sound – alike, formulaic rap ‐ metal, which monopolizes the radio airwaves and bestseller charts.”

BÖC has always maintained a relentless touring schedule and an album of new material THE SYMBOL REMAINS was released Oct. 9, 2020 to rave reviews.

Their most recent studio album GHOST STORIES was released in April 2024.
